THE NUMBER of dengue cases in Panama has climbed to 3,080 said the National Director of Health, Carlos Galvez on Sunday December 29.

On Thursday December 266 there were 3035 registered cases nationwide.

Galvez said that 22 people are hospitalized suspected of having dengue warning signs and they are hoping to confirm or rule out the disease in another 900 cases.
Meanwhile, Health Ministry officials are continuing their clean up and spray campaign with Las Mañanitas, in Panama West, the latest target area, where they found aides aegypti breeding sites. Fines are being levies against homes and businesses where the sites are discovered.
Aides aegypti is the mosquito that carries and transmits the disease.
