It’s time once again to pamper your sweet tooth and do your bit for cancer patients at Casita de Mausi and maybe kill three birds with one stone.

Volunteers from this worthy cause have combined once again with some of Panama`s best pastry chefs for the annual bake sale
It takes place on Sunday September 30 at La Casa del Jamon in Costa del Este. That`s the ``super super market of the Gago brothers on the site of what used to be the continents biggest Christmas store, and the place where a couple of months after the bake sale, thousands will be making their annual trek to pick up a Christmas tree fresh in from Canada.
One of them, courtesy of the Canadian Embassy will be destined for Panama Pacifico as a center piece for this year`s Carols by Candlelight (Luces de Navidad) Festival.
Meanwhile mark your diary for September 30. The event starts at 10 am and runs on until 6 pm, but better get there early before all those sweeties have disappeared. Oh, and if you really are determined to punish your sweet tooth, there are goodies with a salty flavor for sale.
If you are wondering about my reference to killing three birs with one stone On the way out you might want to go and savor the smell of the hams in the adjoining store, and pick up some ingredients for your Christmas cake or pudding.
And (stone number three) if you are missing the joys of theAldea Navideña Gago, there is another Casa Navidad well worth exploring, on the right, just before you enter the Corridor Sur, surfeit with all the goodies of the bake sale.

Feeding a sweet tooth for a worthy cause
