Those concerned about healthful eating, lovers of Asian food, vegetarians, believers in animal rights, or a combination of any of the preceding, are in for a cornucopia of treats on Sunday (November 21).
That’s when Panama’s first International Festival of Healthy Eating kicks off at the Colegio La Salle de Panama (La Salle College) in Cangrejo. If none of the above suits you, pay a visit, if it's only to see how the other hald lives and enjoys,
The event starts at 10 a.m. and runs until 5 p.m
The link to animal rights is the celebration of International Meatless and Animal Rights Day on November 25.
The Sadhu Vaswani Centers in Colon and Panama say the event is a response to the growing concern about environmental degradation, climate change and global warming, and recent scientific discoveries linking all these to our eating habits.
India they say, has the oldest vegetarian culture in the world and they hope to demonstrate the benefits and importance of a vegetarian lifestyle not only for personal health, but for the health of the planet.
Local vegetarian and vegetarian-friendly restaurants and other local caterers will be participating in the festival, to showcase the wide variety of vegetarian food already available in the country.
Whatever your lifestyle the family oriented event will be well worth a visit with the opportunity to sample and purchase exotic vegetarian foods and desserts backed by live entertainment including music and singing and, dancing plus contests and lots of prizes.
And maybe it will be a time to do some early Christmas shopping at booths selling handicrafts, books, CDs and more.
Pay a visit. It may be the beginning of a change in your lifestyle.

A celebration of healthy eating for all the family
