High temperatures in the Caribbean Sea are killing marine invertebrates and producing a high degree of coral bleaching warn scientists with the Panama based Smithsonian Tropical Research Institute.

The bleaching was discovered in Bocas del Toro and the researchers said that there had been no indication of such activity until 10 days ago
The bleaching comes two months after the National Atmospheric and Oceanic Administration of the United States issued a warning about high ocean temperatures.
Temperatures are normally around 28 degrees celsius but have risen as high as 32. {jathumbnail off}
