Panama’s oldest continuously operating theater celebrates its 60th season this year and plans at least four productions.

The Theatre Guild, which still spells its name the English way and has its home in Ancon, is run entirely by volunteers from the local and international community.
Six years ago, on International Theatre Day, the Guild was recognized by the director of Panama’s Cultural Institute for its continuing work promoting theater as a social and cultural event.
At the recent annual meeting, attendance was up, new members were enrolled and a new board including a former film producer was elected.
Volunteers of all kinds are welcomed, from stage hands, to fund raisers, producers, directors and, of course, actors or those who aspire to be.
Plans this year will likely include an enhanced marketing program to introduce expats and English speaking Panamanians to the theater.
The Board now comprises: Colombino Headley (President), Walter Borer (Treasurer), Brenda Scott (Secretary), Gale Cellucci (Honorary President), Aquilino Arias, Rita Banús, Ron Barker, Bernard Callaghan, Robert Emerick, Billy Foster, Nick Miles and Dennis Otway.{jathumbnail off}
