TWO CANADIANS, who have  moved to  Panama to introduce  a new flavorsome touch to the restaurant  scene will get  a warm welcome from the CanadaPLUS Club and other members of the expat community at a “Taste of India”  feast on Tuesday, August 18.

Avtar Kala and Sanjay Seghal, are the hands on operators of the recently opened Avatar  restaurant on Via Argentina” which is already drawing across the board  praise from  lovers of Indian cuisine.

Before moving to Panama earlier this  year, Avtar  owned an award winning Indian restaurant along with an ice cream parlor which also gained awards in Pickering, Ontario.

Sanjay, the former catering manager of Toronto’s celebrated Chelsea Inn, has devised a menu for the CanadaPLUS event offering eight dishes from the restaurant’s outstanding menu, and will also be offering drinks at discounted prices throughout the evening. There is ample free parking.

If you want a fun evening spiced up with fine food and good company, book quickly, as numbers are limited and 50 percent of the seats are already spoken for

Canadian Thanksgiving
Mark your calendar for this year’s Canadian Thanksgiving Celebration on Saturday August 10 at the Miramar Intercontinental with traditional feasting, the opportunity to meet Canada’s new Ambassador to Panama,  entertainment, a host of  door prizes,  and a charity auction that could put you in a seat to exciting destinations. The CanadaPLUS Club  is a volunteer organization that  creates  a multiplicity of social events and exploration opportunities, and raises money for local charities especially through the annual Carols By Candlelight Concert.

It has over 500 members and associates who are eligible for special benefits like discounted health insurance and discounts with selected business like printers and language schools and theatrical performance. Membership is open to people of all nationalities and there are currently members from 25 countries including Panama.
