OFF THE CUFF: Panama a Rockefeller "Resilient City"

PANAMA CITY will soon  move onto the world stage in a more positive light than that portrayed in  recent financial and money laundering  after being  selected by the Rockefeller Foundation to be part of its 100 resilient cities network.

The 100 Resilient Cities Network is aimed at helping cities overcome physical, social and economic issues to set an example for the rest of the world.The Panama City Mayor's Office has committed to identifying and addressing the most severe problems of the population

It will have access to economic resources and assistance for a period of up to three years to addressissues, which include disaster management, waste management and transportation.

Mayor José Isabel Blandón - via Skype from Washington-- said the selection process was highly competitive.
