Alejandro Moncada Luna on Monday October 20, became the second Supreme Judge appointed by Ricardo Martinelli, to be forced out of office.
The first was José Abel Almengor, who resigned in 2011, after being implicated in an alleged plot against his former boss, Ana Matilde Gómez former Attorney General.

 For Moncada Luna, his suspension is "provisional" while he is being investigated for alleged offenses of unjust enrichment, money laundering, falsification of public documents and corruption of public servants. And was determined by the subcommittee of guarantees of the National Assembly, a body composed of judges Katleen Levy, the Panamanian Party; Zulay Rodríguez, of the Democratic Revolutionary Party (PRD), and coincidentally, Ana Matilde Gomez, who is now an indpendent deputy. The prosecutor in the case is PRD deputy Pedro Miguel González who was appointed to the role after the National Assembly received a report of the National Bar Association and the Citizens Alliance for Justice, following a La Prensa revelation that Moncada Luna acquired two apartments for $ 1.7 million, one of them in cash, after being named to the Supreme Court and after adjudicating in favor of members of Martinelli’s inner “Zero Circle”
