PANAMA is moving towards removing one of the final hurdles to entering the Pacific Alliance, which includes Colombia, Peru and Chile.
President Ricardo Martinelli said Friday, October 18, that he and Mexican President Enrique Peña Nieto have committed to the signing of a free trade agreement before year's end.

Martinelli said that joining the alliance is a priority for the government. The country now has observer status.
