If you fill your tank with 95 octane gasoline you may feel less of a tug on your wallet this weekend with a predicted 10 cent a gallon price drop.

Those who believe their vehicle functions well on 91 octane will see a five cent a gallon increase and diesel is set to rise seven cents, according to preliminary forecasts..
The current pump prices in the cities of Panama and Colon are $4.50 a gallon for 95 octane, $4.05 for 91 octane and $3.91 for diesel. In spite of the surge in prices, gasoline consumption increased 7.6%, while the diesel suffered a decline of 5.8% in sales, according to reports of the Comptroller General. Idling in Panama’s traffic jams may have had an effect on consumption.
Of the 20 fuel price adjustments this year, 10 have been across the board increases, six lowered   and four with a mixed trend like the current announcement.
