In the 21 years since its founding, the Ducruet Company of Panama has become not only the market- leading insurance brokerage in Central America, but also a community involvement trail blazer.
This month, the family owned and managed company, is marking its anniversary with a commemorative program: "20 years, 20 Dreams".
From its first days the company has endeavored to recognize the contributions it has received from society in building a successful business, by being active creators, supporters and participants in
(Luis Carlos del Rio, Ana Cristina Bedoya, Louis Ducruet, Andrea Domínguez, Jean Ducruet)
multiple programs to improve the quality of life of hundreds of Panamanians.
It has actively supported the Foundation of Friends of Children with Leukemia and Cancer (FANLYC), which provides assistance to cancer stricken children from poor families; the Dharma Foundation, which looks after the welfare of homeless children risk areas, the National Association Against Cancer (ANCEC) a nonprofit organization dedicated to the fight against cancer in Panama; Home Rosa Virginia Religious Community; "The Good Shepherd", which helps pregnant girls and teenage mothers who live in high risk areas; and the National Cancer Institute, the leading organization dedicated to and cancer prevention research in Panama.
The 20 years 20 dreams project has also fulfilled the dreams of about 30 children attending kindergarten through sixth grade at Ocú s in the province of Veraguas, with the donation of a gym that will allow them to complement their classroom studies with sports.
In addition to these organizations, associations and schools, the Ducruet initiative has also helpe a sector of the population with physical or economic disadvantages to better function in society. Children with disabilities residing in the capital and the provinces have been supported by the company, by reshaping their homes or trhough the donation of wheelchairs to help them enjoy a better quality of life.
The project has also benefited four firefighters who were physically injured in the line of duty, in the Colon Free Zone, in October 2009.

The project was not performed soly by the Ducruet family, but also by collaborators they encouraged to give support. A group of companies and government agencies joined the project like the Meritorious Fire Department, National Cancer Institute, Insurance Constitution, Assa Insurance, Best Insurance, Banesco Insurance, Generali, Sagicor, Ace Insurance, Panamerican Life, Fedpa Insurance and International Insurance, who have devoted time and resources to help the most needy.

Through it all, the three Ducruet brothers who head the company, have created a standard for others to follow, in both staff and community relations. It’s a record that Dickens’ Cheeryble Brothers would have recognized, even envied.
