The Panamanian economy registered a fiscal deficit of 0.6% of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) during the first quarter of 2010 says The Minister of Economy and Finance Alberto Vallarino.
The deficit of the nonfinancial public sector in the country remains below forecast figures considered in the Social Responsibility Law Attorney (LRSF), which sets a limit of 2.0%. Vallarino said that the figures did not exceed the 1.96% projected by the strategic plan set by the Panamanian Government.
During this period revenues reached a total of $1,511 million which represented an increase of 12.4% over the same period last year, and direct tax collection amounted to $362.3 million.
